Orunodoi Scheme: Financial Aid for Families in Assam The Arundori or Orunodoi Scheme is a Government of Assam scheme launched on 2nd October 2020. The Orunodori scheme aims to provide financial assistance of Rs.1250 per month through a direct transfer scheme to around 27.61 lakh families in the state. Orunodoi Scheme beneficiaries receive the amount on the tenth day of every month, starting from October 2020. Women, being primary caretakers of the family, are kept as beneficiaries of the scheme. The then Finance Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, now the chief minister, announced the orundori scheme, described asds the foremost bead among the Ashtadesh MUKUTA UNNOYOINEE MAALA, in his 2020-21 budget speech.

What is the Orunodori Scheme? The orundori scheme is a landmark scheme launched by the government of Assam. It aims to alleviate poverty and provide nutritional support to poor families in Assam. Women have been made the name-bearing beneficiaries for this scheme since the household is managed by them.

Who is Excluded from the Scheme? The following categories of persons and their families are not eligible for the orunodori 3.o scheme:
MPs/former MPs, MLAs, CEMs and other elected representatives of political parties.
Current members of the panchayati Raj institutions and urban local bodies.
Professionals such as doctors, Engineers, architects, charted accountansts, bank officers and lawyers.
All government employees, pensioners or contract employees, including anganwadi workers, Asha workers villages heads.
Govt contractors, suppliers, property developers, industries and businessmen who pay income tax.
Land owners other than small and marginal farmers.
Families who own motorised four-wheelers.
Recipients of the 'Orunodoi Plus' scheme or other similar schemes offering similar or higher cash assistance from the government.
Households whose total income exceeds the limits specified in the current national food safety act

Selection Process of the Orunodoi Scheme Beneficiary An undertaking cum checklist of the eligibility/ineligibility conditions has been prepared for use at the GP/VCDC/ULB level, which is attached at Annexure A. Only such an undertaking cum checklist, should be prepared against each proposed beneficiary household.
Compilation at the LAC level: The undertaking cum checklist, forwarded by the gaon panchayat/ VCDC/ULB, will be complied LAC wise by the member secretary DLMC to be put for the district level monitoring committee for prioritisation/ selection.
Prioritisation of the list of applicants by the district level monitoring committee: The district level monitoring committee will meet to prioritise and finalise the received list of applicants submitted by the GPNCDC/ULBs, based on the priority criteria mentioned above.
Eligibility Criteria for Sneha Sparsh Scheme Only those candidates who satisfy the below-mentioned eligibility criteria would be eligible for snehs sparsh scheme:
An applicant who requires treatment must be a resident of Assam state.
The total annual family income of the patient from all sources must not exceed Rs. 2.50 lakh.
Priority will be given to the following poverty families.
The beneficiary/guardians will have to submit an Income Certificate issued by a competent authority, such as the Deputy Commissioner, Sub-Divisional Officer, Circle Officer, or any other authority as notified by Govt from time to time, to be eligible for financial assistance.
