Ladli Beti Scheme: Supporting Girl Child Education

With a mission to empower the disadvantaged, the Ladli Beti scheme was launched by the government of Jammu and Kashmir under the guidance of the Department of Social Welfare. It’s critical schemem for aspirant to understand in the context of inclusive development. This scheme is introduced to assist Girl children bron after 1, 2015 J&K/Ladakh by promoting inclusion. Enhancing accessibilry and the bridging social economic gaps. Leveraging the recurring deposit of 1000 per month for 14 years is the name of the girl child mechanism, this scheme aims to streamline services and enhances accessibility.

After the girl child reaches the age of 21 years they will be liable to get the amount accumulated in this scheme over the maturity period. The main objectives of the scheme is help the girl children to have financial assistance by the time they reach the age of getting college education or getting married. The amount can be withdrawn after the maturity period.

About Ladli Beti Scheme JK

The Ladli beti scheme is created by the jammu and kashmir government to provide an investment plan to girl children in the state. This is an investment plan created to provide financial assistance in the long run to all the beneficiaries. The investment plan is available for people who have an annual income of less than 75000 INR. The scheme is divided into two parts and the first part will be matured after 14 years.

In the first phase of the scheme, the installments will be given directly by the Jammu and kashmir government and less the scheme will be promoted to the second phase. Amonthy contribution of 1000 rupees will be made the J and K government in the first phase.

Eligibity Criteri

The applicant must be a girl.
The girl child be born on a after 01/04/2026 whose applicants are complete in all respects accompanied by a sanction letter from the child development project officer of the selected domiciliary district Srinagar, Anantag, Budgam, Jammu, Kathua, Pulwama, Samba, Kishtwar.
The annual income of the beneficiary from all sources must be less than rupees 75000.

Phase Wise Contribution and Tenure

The Ladli Beti scheme is divided into two phases and can be considered as a hybrid deposit plan.
Phase 1 consists of a recurring deposit for 14 years with the date of completion as one month after the last installment received in the account.
Phase 2 is A Cumulative Term Deposit (CCR) for 07 years.
In Phase 1, a monthly contribution of 1000 rupees is to be made by the Jammu and Kashmir Government.

Maturity Period of Ladli Beti Scheme JK

The maturity period of the first phase of the scheme is 14 years.
After the maturity of phase I recurring deposit account the account will graduate to phase II Cumulative Term Deposit account.
Maturity benefits under the scheme will be paid to the beneficiary on completion of 21 years of age or 21 years after the first installment or 85 months after the last installment whichever is later by crediting the saving bank account of the girl child.

Step1: To apply for the ladli beti scheme, beneficiaries must first visit the official portal by clicking on the link.

Step2: On the home page click on the login option present on the menu bar and a new page will open on the screen.

Step 3: For people who already have registered on the portal, they must login in using their credential but if you have not registered then you must on new user.

Step4: Register yourself by entering basic information such as your mobile number, and email address, and creating a password.

Step 5: After making your account successfully, click on Skip to Dashboard.

Step 6: Now, click on “Apply for Services” appearing on the left side of the screen and search for ‘Application for obtaining financial assistance under Ladli Beti Scheme’.

Step 7: Upload all of the documents. Make sure to upload the original copies of the documents.

Step 8: Now you can click on the “Submit” button.

Step 9: Download the ACKNOWLEDGEMENT for record and reference to track the status of the application at various levels.

Step 10: People can also provide her/his feedback through a Rapid Assessment System (RAS).
